Cranberry Chutney Recipe

Colleen, our trusty “admin” reports that no celebration dinner is complete without Cranberry Chutney!

Cranberry Chutney

1 pound    fresh cranberries   
1 cup    water
1 cup    sugar
1/2 cup    brown sugar
1/2 cup    golden raisins
1 cup    onion, chopped
1 cup    apple, chopped
1/2 cup    celery, chopped
2 teaspoons    cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoon    ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon    ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon    ground allspice

1:   In a 3 quart saucepan, combine cranberries, water, sugars and raisins. Simmer, stirring frequently over medium heat until juice is released from the berries, about 15 minutes.
2:   Reduce heat and stir in chopped onion, apple and celery. Stir in spices and simmer uncovered until thick, about 15 minutes.
